Job description

We are looking to recruit for a Advanced Clinical Practitioner, (ANP) to join our team in the New Forest to lead the delivery of Enhanced Access appointment provision for the local Primary Care Networks (PCNs). Based at the Ringwood Medical Centre.

As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, (ANP) to join the Extended Access Service at PHL to join the team based in Ringwood Medical Centre.

Hours: Monday OR Thursday 1830-2130

Skills and experience

Advanced Clinical Practitioner Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess undifferentiated patients with a range of acute, non-acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Take history, make appropriate physical examinations, formulate differential diagnoses and formulate/manage treatment plans when working in any clinical environment
  • Refer and facilitate patient pathways through appropriate referrals to primary, community, secondary and tertiary care for patients when necessary, such as 2-week wait, urgent and routine referrals to specialities
  • Prescribe medication as required within your clinical competence
    Recognise the need and initiate emergency treatment to save life or to safeguard the interests of the patient and refer to emergency services when appropriate


Advanced Clinical Practitioner Skills & Experience:

  • 3 years of experience working in a primary care GP practice
  • 3 years’ experience in an urgent care setting such as an urgent treatment centre
  • At least 6 years post qualification
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in the assessment and management of minor injury and illness presentations
  • Good knowledge of primary care referral pathways such as 2-week-wait referrals
  • Registered with the NMC/HCPC
  • Non-medical prescriber
  • Post graduate diploma (PgDip) and working towards completion of the MSc qualification. Completed level 7 modules must include a history taking and patient examination/decision-making module
